TURBUD #32015

On April 3rd 2014, I and #32015 went to Bali in our school event named Tur Budaya (Culture Trip). We gathered at Kebon Kawung station at 5.00 pm. We used train from Bandung to Surabaya. We departed with Turangga Train at 8.00 pm. I sat with Arsent, Dhiya and Faqih. Before the train departed, we took some photos with our class or XI IPA 4.

When the train departed, we enjoyed Fried Rice and our foods. After 12 hours, finally we arrived at Gubeng Station at 8.00 am. We used bus to continue our trip. In the bus we played some songs and sang together. We had lunch in Probolinggo at 12.00 pm. After that, we continued our trip to Katapang Harbour in Banyuwangi. We took a ferry to Gilimanuk Harbour in Bali. It was so dark, we couldn't see anything. At 10.00 pm, we arrived at Gilimanuk Harbour and continued our trip Hotel Nirmala in Denpasar, Bali. It took 4 hours to the hotel, so we arrived at 2.00 am. We took a rest in the hotel. It was very tiring journey.
The next day, we went to Tanjung Benoa. There were some watersports than we can play. I only took the trip to Turtle Island with Ramdhan, Putu, Anas and the others.
The Turtle Island is a place to conserve turtle. There were a lot of turtles. After that, we went back to beach to had lunch and changed our clothes (shirt) with TURBUD shirt. Then, we continued our trip to Pudjamandala. It was a place that we can see 5 majority religions in Indonesia having their holy sites. It is the one and only in Indonesia. It reflects that tolerance is living in the middle of Bali's people. We hopes that this spirit can be applied in all regions in Indonesia, so we can be a better country. After that, we went to GWK. GWK is a abbreviation of Garuda Wisnu Kencana. It is statue complex that if all the statues is done, it will be the highest statue in the world. It is located in the Jimbaran Hills, so we can see the Aitport, and Denpasar City from there. In the place, there is a holy water source that if we drink them, our pray will be happened, but I didn't drink it, because I didn't believe it. The GWK project is have been long suspended because the 1998 financial crisis. But now, in some places there, the project continued again. After see the statue, we play a game. The task is to finding all clues and guessing what is that. Our class won and we got prize money. Then we took some pictures together.
Then, we continued to Jimbaran bay for had dinner together. There was a game named sing a song. We saw our friends performence there and we danced and jumped together while enjoying the song.
The second day, we went to Penglipuran Cultural Village. There we can see the ancient and traditional Bali Village. There are 2 different culture that lived in Bali, Bali Aga (known as old Bali) that lived only in some places like Penglipuran and Trunyan, and the others people called Bali Majapahit. Except Bali Aga people, we having a close relationship with java people because we are the remainders from Majapahit kingdom. After that, we went to Kintamani. There we only had a lunch, before had lunch we took some pictures together.

Then we went to Sukowati. Sukowati was the one of traditional market in Bali which sold a lot of art craft, clothes, and foods. I didn't buy anythings in that place. I just see what was on the market and went again to the bus. After that, we went back to the hotel and prepared for the last night event in Bali and we called 'Makrab' (malam keakraban). We saw some performences from our friends and 32015 award in Makrab 32015.

The last day, we went to Pandawa Beach. But, on the way there, we had an accident. Our bus is crashed with a motorbike. Then, we stopped the bus in gas station and joined with other XI IPA 2's bus to get there. Pandawa Beach is a new beach that previously blocked by hills. There we had tug of war game. Again, we won and got prize money. After that, we headed to Krisna. Krisna is a shopping store. I only bought pie susu there, and I went to the bus. Some of my friends including me want to go to Kuta Beach. We must ride a elf car to there because bus wasn't permitted to go there. There we having some beachwalk. After that, we directly went to I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport. We departed with AirAsia plane A320-200 at 5.30 pm and arrived in Bandung at 8.00 pm. It was very tiring trip, but it was amazing too.

The boy‘s parents very concerned about his bad temper. They considered what they could do and one day the father had an idea. He called his son and gave him a hammer and a bag of nails. The father said: „Every time you get angry, take a nail and drive into that old fence as hard as you can.“

The fence was very tough and the hammer was heavy, nevertheless the boy was so furious that during the very first day he has driven 37 nails.

Day after day, week after week, the number of nails was gradually decreasing. After some time, the boy started to understand that holding his temper is easier that driving nails into the fence.

One day the boy didn‘t need hammer and nails anymore as he learned to hold his temper perfectly. So he came to his father and told about his achievement. „Now every time, when you hold your temper all day long, pull out one nail“.

Much time has passed. At last the boy could be proud of himself as all the nails were gone. When he came to his father and told about this, he offered to come and take a careful look at the fence. „You did a good job, my son, though pay your attention to the holes that left from the nails. The fence will never be the same. The same happens when your say hurtful things to people, as your words leave scars in their hearts like those holes in the fence. Natural Phenomenon : Rainbow

 RAINBOW

Rainbows are a strange phenomenon, and one of the least well-understood laws of nature, as far as most people are concerned. They're rings of light, often times you can see them in the sky, or in waterfalls, or even in a garden sprinkler on a really nice day. Somehow, we can't see the end of them, and no matter where we go, they always look like they're in the same place. Everyone knows that rainbows occur when light passes through small droplets of water and bounces around, but the following article will explain exactly why rainbows appear as they do.
When light passes through a water droplet, the curvature of the surface combined with the density of the water in comparison with that of the air causes light to refract, as in a prism. Since different wavelengths of light shift by different angles inside the water, we get the usual prism effect of light being split in to various bands of colour. If this is true, then we'd expect that every droplet of water that was hit by sunlight would create the 'rainbow effect', and this is actually true. For every droplet of water that's hit by the sun's rays, there is a particular angle at which the droplet can be viewed which would show the appropriate patters of light, though interference from dust, other water, etc. makes viewing a rainbow impossible without a large amount of small droplets, which are closer in shape to spheres than large droplets.
Now, we'll put ourselves in the position of anyone looking at the droplet of water. If we 'trace' the line the light took to get from the sun to us, it's apparent that depending on where we're standing, each photon was shifted by a specific angle, and that this angle actually determines what colour the light comes out as, because changing our angle a little bit makes some colours miss our eyes, while another colour comes in to focus. The first thing to consider is that we can forget about light that doesn't come from the sun, or light that bounced around too many times before it hit the water droplets. This light is less powerful, and less directional, and is simply destined to become some of the background light that makes up our blue sky. Now, if we take a look at the shape of a sphere, we can use some mathematics far beyond the scope of this article to calculate that the light that gets refracted inside the water droplet comes out at an angle of about 20 to 30 degrees away from the direction it entered, as shown in the diagram below:
Since the light is going backwards, we need to stand with our back facing the sun in order to view a rainbow. Now, if we perform the calculations required, we can see that the line passing through both the sun and the viewer forms the direction of the 'cone' of space in which water droplets will be able to reflect light back to us. To be a little more clear, if you stand with your back to the sun and look at a rainbow (as a circle), you can draw a cone from yourself to the rainbow, and if you were to look around, you would notice that the cone is directly aligned with your direction to the sun. This explains why rainbows move as you move, why you can never find the end of a rainbow (it's a circle that keeps moving as you do) and why sometimes, in sun showers, you can see the continuation of rainbows even in front of objects that are quite close to you. If you ever drive in a misty rain and see a rainbow, you may notice that it may even be visible in front of cars in other lanes than yours.
In conclusion, a rainbow is almost an entirely mathematical event. It's based solely on the position of the sun relative to the observer, and as such, has no physical location to speak of. This strange phenomenon comes from the diffraction of light through water, and is one of the most impressive and awe-inspiring sights in nature, due to its complexity, and lack of a non-complex explanation.

My Holiday

My last holiday was so so, because I just stayed at home. On first week of my holiday, I didn’t go anywhere. I spent my holiday in my home. I was so lazy in my home. I just ate, slept, listened to the music, watched television, and played computer.
On second week or last week of my holiday, I went to the hospital with my grandma. I checked my eyes to  doctor, because I couldn’t see something from the distance. Arrived at the hospital, I had to queue up, because a lot of patients there. I waited for an hour. In the check up room, the nurse asked me to read random alphabet with various sizes from the distance. My eyes couldn’t see it clearly. The doctor diagnosed that I had myopia.
Next day, I went out of my home with my mother and brother, we had lunch together. Two days later, I went to my grandma’s home to attend family gathering and celebrated my grandma’s birthday party. In my grandma’s home, I met my cousins. We chatted about school, games, football, etc. Then,  we played a games together.
When new year’s eve, I just stayed at home and slept. I didn’t celebrate it. Because, I thought that moment just for christian not for moslem. I couldn’t sleep well, because the sound of fireworks was very noisy. So, I woke up at 12 pm. Then, I watched tv,  but there was no interesting. So, I slept again.
Next day, I went to Febbry’s home to do homework together. I did homework “GamTek (Gambar Teknik)” with Febbry, Arsent, Ramdhan, Farhan, and Insani. Our task was making nirmana 2D. But, I had no completed the task in Febbry’s home. I continued the task in my home until the last day of my holiday.

I was lazy during holiday. I didn’t study. I spent my holiday just for fun and refresh my brain.
